What is your genre?
Whatever the heck I feel like. Mostly it's sci-fi/fantasy with a wide blend of characters. I mostly write character centered stories with political drama and tough choices. I'm also big on morality and religion, so both tend to be major themes in my work.
What do you write?
novels, short stories
Are you a pantser, a plotter, or a hybrid?
plotter
What is your current project?
Right now I am prepping for NaNoWriMo, but am working on a fantasy novel with political drama mixed in. My focus is on gender roles in a society. The story, called "My Queen's Harem" is about a youth from a patriarchal country that is subjugated by the matriarchy of Halvand. Subsequently, he is sold into slavery as the crown princess's concubine. The complete change in gender roles takes him by surprise as he struggles to adjust to his new stature in a new world. The Queen's Harem is where most of the story takes place, as virtually every character is in some way connected to the harem.
How long have you been writing?
Forever... it seems... Started on FF.Net back in 2001, was writing way earlier.
Published or Aspiring?
aspiring
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
My greatest strength is my depth and perception into the identities of my characters, and my ability to deal with tough material in a realistic way. I'm also great at world building.
What do you feel is your greatest weakness as a writer?
My greatest weakness are my info dumps. There's so much about my story that I want to share, but I don't always space it out properly. Sometimes, it blocks up on the page.
Do you have any specialized knowledge in some field?
Does technology work? I can tell you anything in the world you need to know about techno-geek stuff. I'm also a human factors specialist, so I know quite a bit about psychology and how people react under different situations.
Age
Eighteen
Where are you from?
A little island in Washington
Looking for a CP or Taken?
looking

Introductions and Samples of my Writing

Hi everybody! I'm Lockea Annette Stone (LoLo for short), a teenager who still thinks she's a kid. I'm a sophomore in college, and I write as a hobby to keep me from going insane. I don't feel like repeating most of what I said in my forum posts, so here's a brief recap.

In short, LoContinue

I think we have a lot in common, although there is an age difference. My second WIP, Tangled Web, has some alien gender issues and I don't have a problem with homosexual material. I write science fiction. If you'll respond to cat_scratches@doglover.com, I can send you a writing sample and vice versa. If you've committed to another writer already, just let me know. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay-- I was sick over the weekend.

I can handle homosexual material, but nothing explicit. Still, I think you'd be better off forcing yourself to finish more of your story before anything I say becomes much use. Stories tend to twist and snake around for the first few chapters.

Interested in exchanging first chapters for a sample critique?

Hi and welcome!

I'm also working on a fantasy novel with political intrigue... though they sound a world apart from each other. Your idea sounds interesting. :)
