Hailey, wildly hailed as the smartest mind of her time prepares to take her Scholar Exam and pass into the ranks of the Learned--the youngest to attempt this one-time make-or-break Rite in recorded history. A week before the Exam a prophetic dream is sent to her and she must give up all that she knows and has fought for to help save the world and all its inhabitants from being consumed by their dying world.

Soon they learn that the world isn't just dying, but was split into pieces to contain the Evil One. Hailey is left with two choices: help heal the world and release the Evil One, or allow him to remain locked up forever as the world disintegrates.

One thing Hailey will learn is that everyone--uncle, father, lover and friends-- is just out for themselves, even when it comes to the end of the world.

This is written in first person.

I have over 20k words written and the majority of the plot laid out and the first half outlined in detail.
