Just thought I'd jump in and add my thoughts. Most of these I've already read, and have them on my shelves. But I think Diane Duane's Young Wizards series is pretty good for young adult readers, especially boys since it has both a male and female ...

I like to think that I write romantic humor, but right now I'm dabbling in Realistic Fiction
What do you write?

Are you a pantser, a plotter, or a hybrid?
plotter
What is your current project?
I am writing the second book to my trilogy about a band rise to fame and struggling to find love and happiness.
It started out as a FF but I removed all references to the source material and I wrote flash back chapters. it ended up being 545 pages double spaced which was far too long for a fluffy romanace..oh and it sucked according to my editor.

So I decided to revamp it. Instead of 1 really long book, I wrote three shorter books.
Book 1 looks at the character's in high school, first loves, betrayals, and fitting in.

Book 2 is the band's rise to fame

Book 3 is the main character finally meets the woman he's been looking for.
What stage is your current project in?
I have finished a manuscript for older teens and I now working on adult romance. I'm 4 chapters in to that one.
I'm looking for a CP who
wants to swap full drafts just for critique, is willing to swap chapters as we go
How long have you been writing?
I started back in high school, and I wrote off and on in college. I took a step back when I started working and got back into writing about 4 years ago.
Published or Aspiring?
published

I can read other people's work and help them with it. I think my characters come off sounding and acting real.

Grammar, grammar and more grammar
Do you have any specialized knowledge in some field?
I'm a geek at heart, so I know a little about a WHOLE lot of topics.

What sort of a crit partner am I?

I've done this before with a few other writers. I look at the big picture first. I'll ask you about your goals as a writer:
Are you looking to get this published?
Are you looking at project as a part of series or just a one shot thing?
Are you looking to write the next great American Novel or is it just a beach read?
I'll keep all of that in mind when I read.

I tend to give a lot of feedback, I look at characters, dialogue and plot.
Depending on the peice, I'll give at least one comment per page or a lengthy paragraph at the end of the chapter.

What am I looking for in a Crit Partner?
I would really like a partner who would give me as much feedback as I give them.
Someone who is honest and looks at my concerns.
In the pass I've worked for hours on people writing, rereading it a couple of times and in a fast manner, and in return I've gotten one or two sentences of a feedback.

Here's an example of my work, it was published on chick lit review

Hi Erinn, I spoke to Alicia and I read your profile. Are you interested in being CPs? I know you're currently working with Alicia but maybe we can all work together? I still can't figure out how to sent a message directly to someone so I'm using this blasted wall. Please email me at jourdania@gmail.com. thx

No problem. I had to find out myself on a romance writer's blog. When I joined CPM I had no idea what a pantser was either.

Erinn, I read the work you linked to above and loved it! Guess I'm a sucker for an HEA.

Ah! Query letters! How I hate them. If you haven't been there already, check out queryshark.blogspot.com. Tons of QL. Actually, all of the sales/marketing stuff drives me insane. It all sounds too fake. Fortunately, my husband loves sales and marketing stuff so he's helping me with crafting all that. I'm working on some final revisions so I can be ready to go if/when agents respond to my query.

I hate revising too, but I think that's a known fact right now. :) I'd be happy to take a look at your first book to see if they sound realistic.

Trials & Tribulations just got a shiny new title. It's about a teenage girl who leaves juvenile hall and has to get used to being a regular individual. I hate talking about the book. I need to work on that.
