Uh, three projects here. Characters deeply developed, right down to the quirks that make them loveable or hateable (is that even a word?). Outlines very long and pointing out all the little stuff I forget about. And the third project is for NaNo R...
It's just a little Temperamental, Nano is very Popular and the site gets Bombarded from October Onwards.
Does anybody know what is happening to Nanowrimo? I wanted to sign up for 2009 and their site seems to be down.

I'm in. Haven't made up my mind quite yet what to write,maybe I will wing it this year.
Doing NaNoWriMo. Got one of two things to be doing. It just depends on where I'm at in November. It's either the ending of Book 1 or the Book 2, of Times Fly.

- Um... Yes and no? My first chapter is almost finished (I am epic fail), but I've been horribly distracted from it because of finals and the plot bunny of doom which commanded me to take a break and write about the history behind several other characters in the story.
I have the prologue done, so I wouldn't mind sharing it. Also, before we share, I need to know how you feel about homosexuality in writing. :D

- What is your genre?
- Fantasy. I like almost all sub genres of fantasy, however: steampunk, epic, high fantasy, low fantasy, dark fantasy. My favorite books have intricate plots and deep characterization.
In a broad sense, I'm a fan of all speculative fiction, though I don't write science fiction or horror.

In Marla, wars are fought with assassins, not armies. When the king took his niece hostage, he meant to hamper his enemies. Instead he brought his war home with him.

- Three full drafts are finished. I'm over halfway done with final revisions. Now I need some test readers to test drive it.

- wants to swap full drafts just for critique, is willing to swap chapters as we go, who will be there from the ground up on a project

- Since I could read. I've been writing novels for eleven years.

- What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
- Character and plot. I have a good eye for editing content and composition.
- What do you feel is your greatest weakness as a writer?
- Rushing. I sometimes get impatient as I write, and I cut a lot of description trying to get to the 'fun parts'. I also notice that I have a tendency to write in long, rambling sentences.
- Do you have any specialized knowledge in some field?
- Some martial arts background, art, and computer science. I also have the resources to give lectures on the use of poison (its sources, symptoms, and historical application) and basic Latin translation. Ask away, and I'll try to answer as best I can.

The Basics...
I care about three things first and foremost: believability, engagement, and clarity. In other words, I look for the places in a story where I'm bored, confused, or feel the need to say, 'yeah, right'. I won't focus on spelling or punctuation. I think of myself as a test reader rather than an editor.
I'm interested in character and plot. I'll tell you what I think about your characters and why, my reactions to the events in the story, and anything that bothers me as a reader.
What I'll Read...
I like speculative fiction. That said, I'm really less interested in the genre of a story so much as I like the concept, so I'll make exceptions to that. I don't read erotica or straight-on-romance, so I doubt that I'd be a good match for critiquing either genre.
I'd also like to work with someone disciplined enough to finish their projects, preferably someone with a substantial amount of writing already finished.

Low Fantasy. Contains court intrigue, violence, and dark themes.
Unpublished.
The Artificer's Angels
Steampunk Fantasy. Contains action/adventure, romance, and mad science.
Planning stage.
