Critique Partner Requirements and What I can Offer

What I can do for you
I am all about pointing out whether someone would actually say that. I'm detail-oriented, and use that to your advantage by pointing out if your world-building/character development/dialogue falls through during a scene/chapter/subplot. I'm honest and direct with my edits, so I will tell you when I'm falling asleep and when I'm on the edge of my chair. I use Microsoft Word 2003, so if you don't have that program it will be hard for me to submit edits.

If you're interested in becoming critique partners with me, comment! We'll work something out, like submit a sample first chapter to see how our editing styles work out.

What I need from a beta reader
Tell me if my story isn't believable. Tell me if I jumped from one character's point of view to another during the same scene. Tell me if you laughed, cried, or felt apathetic. Be brutal and honest, supportive and constructive. This isn't about grammar, this is about plot, character, setting, and dialogue, which all add up to the most important buzzwords, believability and heart. Because I write historical fiction, it would be best if I could match with another historical fiction writer/author.

Oh that monster called Doubt! It does a number on me. Thanks for the support. For the most part I look at what I've done and think, "ok, this is good" but sometimes that monster rears it's ugly head. That's where a good CP comes in ... someone to tell you, HONESTLY, what can be fixed but also what the good parts are.
