What is your genre?

Lately, I seem to be writing short stories about teenage boys having strange family relationships. I'm not sure why, it just seems to be what I'm comfortable with. And hey, anything that gets writing done.

I've occasionally dipped into supernatural fiction, some urban fantasy when I'm feeling really, really adventurous.

Are you a pantser, a plotter, or a hybrid?

What is your current project?

Right now I'm trying to determine whether or not my novel is worth pursuing. I've been reading a lot about the novel you keep tucked in the bottom of your desk drawer, and I can't help but wonder if I should be taking some giant cosmic hint. ^^;

What stage is your current project in?

I think I'm going to work on something new -- probably a rewrite of an old NaNo idea that I thought was totally awesome.

I'm looking for a CP who

wants to swap full drafts just for critique, is willing to swap chapters as we go, who will be there from the ground up on a project

How long have you been writing?

If we count the long long love affair with fanfiction, seven years.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

I've been told that I'm pretty good dialogue, and I trust that, and I like to think [read: hope] that I can craft a decent character. But I stick with the dialogue as a strength.

What do you feel is your greatest weakness as a writer?

Telling, and Pacing. Pacing kicks my ass so hard.

Do you have any specialized knowledge in some field?

Not particularly. I managed a small gas station, which is part of a local chain of gas stations, so I know my way around that, but I don't imagine too many people are writing about college drop-outs running gas stations.

But, for the general life-experience thing:
- I was also a military brat.
- My dad died when I was 8, and my mother remarried when I was 11 -- after which I went from being the oldest child to having two older brothers.
