Crit Partner Match

Fire up your writing

At the moment I have about five chapters of an SF romance written. I write erotic romance, so you need to be willing to read that, but I'm planning to make this latest book lighter in sex and the language less graphic, with correspondingly more plot.

The story is set in the distant future on Earth and involves a decadent society, a rich family that's trying to regain its fortune, and a legendary treasure lost in the last cataclysm that shook the planet.

If you're interested you can check out my writing style by reading my short story Passiontide on my web site, http://www.kassieburns.com

Hello, Kassie! I'm an unpublished writer looking for someone to trade feedback - preferably both technical and supportive feedback. What I write might not be your cup of tea, but for me it's worth the effort to at least say hello to other writers of erotica and hope someone else out there is interested in BDSM tales with plot and heart. They sell. I should know - I've bought enough. :)

I love to read sci fi - was brought up on Heinlein and Edgar Rice Burroughs. As well as Tolkien and Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe and Mark Twain. My reading range now is incredibly wider. Laurell Hamilton is my inspiration for finally writing what I want to, not what I think will sell.

BDSM is not all I write. I've got a werewolf/vampire tale started that is mass market clean, a fantasy piece I started in high school (many, many years ago) and am reviving, and a bunch of other starts. And fanfiction that is my dirty little secret, but is incredibly fun to write. And poetry, which I can't help write - it just happens.

My current two projects are a homoerotic polyamorous BDSM novel set in (sort of) the here/now, and a collaborative fantasy where the male lead is magically enslaved to a nonhuman sorceress whose pleasures are mixed with the pain of her lovers. I work full time and sometimes don't write as much as I'd like, so my progress is slow. My writing partner works in fits and starts, so that is even slower. But my goal is to publish.

I have bits of my writing on my Live Journal blog, if you (or anyone else interested) would like samples. This piece is fairly indicative of my BDSM style. And this short is the opening chapter of a longer, much more romantic piece I've been kicking around for a while.

Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Kassie and Di -It’s great to see some more people here who write erotica. I started writing contemporary homoerotica about a year ago and have 11 out of 21 chapters of my first novel completed. I’m looking for feedback on story/ characterisation mainly, and will critique pretty much anything in return, especially homoerotica which is my sub-genre of choice.

I’ve just started reading BDSM fiction so I’d love to take a look at your novel Di, and Kassie I used to be a huge sci fi fan in my younger days so although I’m a bit out of practise reading the genre I’m more than happy to read/review your chapters. I should warn you both I'm not great with grammar or punctuation (commas especially) but I like to think I know a good story when I read one, and I'm fairly good at spotting info dumps and plot holes, except when it comes to my own work that is.

Anyway, if you're interested in a chapter exchange, let me know.

Hi, Ash,

I'd love to start exchanging chapters. Maybe you and me and Di could make a threesome, LOL. Send me your email at kassieburns@yahoo.com and let's see what we can get going.

No one is good at spotting holes in their own stories. And a threesome could be fun! More than one view is always good - we're bound to find different things for each other. And I'm really looking forward to talking to both of you further. I'm at djwolf34@yahoo.com, Ash. Drop me a line!
